In the state of California, the Child Support Services Program (CSSP) is under the umbrella of the California Health and Human Services Agency CHHS

Mission Statement
The mission of the California Child Support Services Program (CSSP) is to enhance the well-being of children and the self-sufficiency of families by providing professional services to locate parents, establish paternity and establish and enforce orders for financial and medical support.

California's CSSP works with parents and guardians to make sure children and families receive court-ordered financial support as well as medical support.

• Establishing paternity
• Locating a parent
• Establishing, modifying and enforcing a court order for child support
• Establishing, modifying and enforcing an order for health coverage

Child support services in California are available to the general public through a network of 52 county and regional child support agencies.
